Poor In Spirit
The first few clauses of Matthew 5 are so amazingly profound, and directly simple. They are plain words that anyone with simple understanding can receive. But, they seem trivial until you realize they are the life of faith, they set the attitude for the whole Christian walk, and they make us very, VERY happy.
Happy
SUPER HAPPY
Hugely Happy
MACRO HAPPY
Jesus said, Happy are those who are poor in Spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
We recognize the miracles of God as the demonstration of His Kingdom
We say we want the Kingdom to come.
We say we want Him with us.
Right here, the Good Teacher showed us how to possess it.
The formula isn’t hard, just need it!
We have 4 parts…
The end is at the beginning:
Macro Happy!!
The result is HAPPINESS!
But Why?
The Cirumstances
Poor Poor Poor in Spirit
Why is that Happy?
The Clause
*** BECAUSE ***
The Reason
Theirs is the Kingdom
That’s very Happy!
The idea is to connect the two
We don’t like Poverty of Spirit
We like Kingdom
That’s the idea!
If we really believed that the Kingdom was going to show up when we ran out, we would be happy!
If we knew He was there to back us up when we run out, we couldn’t help to get happier and happier the emptier we got…
That’s what Jesus said.
MACRO HAPPY
Jesus Promised
The Key is “Because”. It’s the life of Faith.
We’re not alone.
What’s a way to the Kingdom show up in your life? Run out of yourself.
Simply knowing He’s about to show up will make you happier than when you had plenty.
God wants to be your God.
That’s all.
Trust Him!
