A Light in the Darkness
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:5
The light is real. It shines with a glory that the natural eye cannot see.
As the people around Jesus’ baptism, some heard the voice, and some say, “It only thundered”.
The things of the Kingdom cannot be seen by those who do not believe. You could hear the principles of the Kingdom expounded for years and years but it is only when Faith comes that the light finally comes on.
As with parables, the purpose was the hide the obvious. Yet, for the person who sees beyond the veil, they become a little more clear every day. The parable meant to conceal becomes the best setting to display the jewel.
Jesus said that the Kingdom could not be seen by someone who was not born again (John 3:3). It is only in that place that we overcome, and it is only by faith that we stand there.
Faith overcomes, and allows that true light, that good news, gospel light to come in and shine.
It shines, and the darkness does not overcome it. It beams forth, and brings forth truth.
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Isaiah 60:1-3
For our light has come, Jesus Christ. Our light comes, as we receive His Kingdom, His anointing. His light comes, as His Word daily penetrates our being.
His grace makes us able, through faith in His son, to stand when all else shakes. As we keep our eyes steadily fixed upon His mighty flame, no waters will quench it, nor floods wash it away (Song of Solomon 8:7).
His light in us, is the only righteousness, the only goodness, that we or the world will ever see. Only His goodness. Only His light. His mercy.
Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm.
Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.
Herds of camels will cover your land, young camels of Midian and Ephah. And all from Sheba will come, bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the LORD.
All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will be accepted as offerings on my altar, and I will adorn my glorious temple.
Isaiah 60:4-7
As we lift up our eyes and look about, we see His salvation. As we lift up our eyes, the King of Glory overshadows and reigns in us. Our darkest moment becomes our brightest, our most shiningest hour. Most Happy are those who are poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Truth reigns, and where the light shines, there can be no darkness. As light increases in life and energy, darkness is more and more driven back.
Even the world cannot deny true light. They can kill it when it speaks up, they can revile it, but they can never put it out.
The word of the hour is to let your light shine. To let it boldly, unashamedly come forth, and to overshine everything you do. They put Jesus in a tomb for three days; they got their hit in. But, after those three days were done, with the power of angels to move literal stones, to shake the earth, to raise many other saints from the dead at the same time, the Father raised Jesus from the grave bodily, and drew His spirit up from where it had departed to. Light won.
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a little bit of leaven. Once you begin to taste faith, see it, and identify it, it becomes contagious. If you can see it, you become a prisoner to happiness all the time. When you’re not in warfare is your lowest point, and even then, most happy am I becuase I will be filled, I am called a child of God, I will receive mercy, I will see God…
You cannot fear the terror that flies by night, because it is to your benefit. What the enemy meant for evil will be turned to your good. You cannot fear the lack of the circumstances, because even in that, God is supplying your every need. You cannot fear that you will not be loved, for He loves you with an everlasting love.
You are free, simply because you believe, and your heart radiates His goodness. Your heart radiates, and kings come to the brightness of your rising. Wealth and riches will come to you, simply because of your glowing.
All for Him. All for His name. All for His glory.
In the end, nothing matters. We keep nothing. We own nothing. We hold onto nothing. The only thing we own is the most precious things of all. His anointing, His word, His Spirit, and His presence.
And, when all around is shaking, and everything about you seem like it is going to fail, look up! The light of the gospel has dawn over you.
Happy are you when you are poor in spirit, for yours is the Kingdom of heaven.
